AI Series: No Syntax? No Problem! Vibe Coding for Beginners

“Vibe coding” is having a moment—but don’t let the word coding fool you.

You don’t need a technical background, a computer science degree, or even familiarity with how software works to get started. Vibe coding flips the traditional model on its head: instead of writing detailed instructions in a programming language, you simply describe what you want in plain English—and AI helps build it.

Traditional coding: you tell the computer exactly how to do everything.
Vibe coding: you describe the outcome, and AI figures out most of the “how.”

A few months ago, our speaker, Leslie Willis, discovered she could describe a tool in plain English and Claude would just… build it. That moment changed everything. Since then, she’s been building functioning apps instead of static spreadsheets, and interactive dashboards instead of endless pivot tables—and she hasn’t looked back.

Leslie brings over 20 years of experience as a consumer insights leader, having worked across major brands including DIRECTV, T-Mobile, Big Fish Games, and The Sports Authority. Today, she’s applying that deep industry expertise to AI-driven workflow design—and sharing how non-technical professionals can do the same.

In this hands-on session, Leslie will demystify vibe coding and guide you through building a working Insights tool using nothing but conversational English, a free Claude account, and your creativity.  By the end of the session, you’ll be well on your way to unlocking an AI capability that can genuinely change how you work.

And yes, there’s a common joke in this space for a reason: “It works, and I have no idea why.” If that sounds a little chaotic—it is. But it’s also where a new way of building begins.

Come ready to experiment, collaborate, and turn ideas into working tools—no syntax required.
