Insights Career Workshops for Everyone

Everyone who has been asked to make sense of people and the data they create is “in Insights”, but we’re often left to figure out the best way to get the job done on our own, without endless resources.

Insights Career Network is pleased to offer an ongoing program of original workshops aimed at helping knowledge workers adapt their skills to meet the needs of today’s Insights labor market, which is made up of curious, analytical people from every business sector.

What’s special about the original workshops provided by the ICN?

Plenty! Our workshops help you build new skills and find new perspectives, like many others out there, but ICN workshop leaders are curated from the active Insights community to lead sessions to build the skills that employers have told us are important and that you have told us is required.

ICN Workshops are also engineered for affordability. The educational partners and independent experts who lead our workshops understand the need for accessible ways to explore our curiosity and the value of community support while doing so; that’s why most of ICN’s workshops carry a recommended donation of between $25 and $100 and why each of our workshops allows for gratis attendance, often via community-supported grants.

ICN Workshop: The Hidden Job Market: Why Applying Stopped Working, and What Does

If you are a UX researcher, market researcher, or insights professional sending out hundreds of applications to dead silence, you are not imagining things. Traditional online job boards have largely stopped producing results. However, the reason behind this drop is not what social media headlines suggest.

The session provides a strategic framework to transition from hopeful, one-off job board applications into a proactive outreach campaign:

Campaign Tracking: Build a structured weekly workflow that turns scattered networking into a trackable job-search system.

The Real Labor Market Data: Get a sourced analysis of research employment across North America, clarifying why viral claims that “half of all UX jobs were eliminated” confuse job posting drops with actual headcount losses.

Where Budget and Hiring Are Moving: Learn where hiring demand is actually shifting, including analytics functions, mid-size suppliers, and hybrid roles sitting between research and product.

Modern Search Tactics: Understand why traditional job titles fail as search terms and what criteria to use instead.

Target Mapping & Intel Gathering: Identify and prioritize target organizations before open roles are ever posted publicly.

Warm Outreach Systems: Discover a repeatable system for generating warm introductions, including a specific mailing-list tactic that consistently outperforms cold applications.
